A unified ecosystem of mental health care
A unified ecosystem of mental health care

Founded in 2012 by Shannon Winters, Changing Lives Counseling. began as a traditional marriage and family counseling practice rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to helping individuals navigate life’s most difficult seasons.
Over the years, Shannon became one of the most trusted and referred counselors in the East Valley, known for her intuitive approach and unwavering presence with clients.
Her professional foundation is built on two master’s degrees in counseling, one in Christian Pastoral Counseling and one in Substance Use and Addiction, along with three years of PhD coursework in Psychology, with her dissertation scheduled for completion this year.
Shannon also holds advanced certifications in PTSD treatment, marriage and family therapy, and multiple trauma‑sensitive modalities.
This blend of academic rigor and real‑world experience shaped the way she sees people, healing, and the nervous system.
But healing doesn’t stand still, and neither did Shannon. As she worked with individuals, couples, and families, she began to see the limitations of traditional therapy alone. Clients needed deeper access, more integrated tools, and a way to work with the body as much as the mind. That insight led to the development of Changing Lives Counseling KAP and Changing Lives Life Coaching, eventually, the full Changing Lives Ecosystem—an approach designed to meet people where they are and support transformation at every stage.

In 2021, Shannon was approached by a visionary Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who had been working inside ketamine infusion clinics. The PMHNP had seen a troubling pattern: patients receiving ketamine through IV infusions were often left alone without therapeutic support, without emotional grounding, and without guidance to make sense of what surfaced during their sessions. She recognized the untapped potential of pairing ketamine treatment with therapy and believed Shannon was the right person to build a model that honored both the science and the human experience.
That collaboration sparked the creation of Changing Lives Counseling KAP, founded and developed by Shannon Winters. Shannon designed the business model, therapeutic framework, and client‑care structure that now define the program. She transformed a simple concept “therapy should be present in the room” into a fully integrated, emotionally attuned, clinically grounded approach to ketamine‑assisted psychotherapy.
Changing Lives Counseling KAP became more than a service. It became a blueprint for transformation: a model that blends clinical expertise, emotional safety, somatic awareness, and intentional goal‑setting to help clients access deeper insight and lasting change.

As Changing Lives Counseling KAP grew, Shannon recognized that clients needed more than clinical support during their ketamine‑assisted psychotherapy journey. They needed structure, grounding, and someone who could help them carry their insights into daily life.
To meet that need, she brought on a dedicated Mental Health Coach who had already been serving inside the KAP model supporting clients with preparation, emotional regulation, and post‑session integration. What began as administrative support quickly revealed something deeper: a natural ability to attune to clients, hold space, and guide them through the practical side of healing.
Driven by passion and purpose, she pursued a national certification in mental‑health coaching and stepped fully into the coaching role within the KAP framework. Her presence became essential offering client's accountability, structure, and a forward‑focused path that complemented their therapeutic work.
Today, Changing Lives Life Coaching stands as its own branch of the ecosystem, built on the strengths she brought into the KAP model from the beginning.
We offer several coaching programs that offer our clients a practical, strengths‑based approach to personal growth, resilience, and everyday emotional wellness helping them turn insight into action and momentum into lasting change.
Changing Lives Inc. now includes three interconnected branches:
Changing Lives Counseling — Traditional therapy for individuals, couples, and families
Changing Lives Counseling KAP — Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy with licensed
clinicians.
Changing Lives Life Coaching — Certified coaching for mental wellness and personal
development
Together, we offer a continuum of care that honors the complexity of healing — from trauma
recovery to transformation.
We believe healing is not a one-size-fits-all journey. It’s layered, personal, and sacred.
Whether you’re seeking support through counseling, exploring ketamine-assisted therapy, or building a new chapter through coaching, we’re here to walk with you.
Because changing lives isn’t just our name.
It’s our mission.
“Healing doesn’t require a clinic. It requires safety, science, and someone who sees you.”
At Changing Lives Inc., we design care around real life not the other way around. Emotional wellness should be accessible, flexible, and responsive to the season you’re in.
That’s why we offer multiple ways to receive support: traditional office visits, virtual sessions for those who need convenience or privacy, and in‑home sessions for clients who feel safest in their own environment.
Each format is grounded in the same principles: clinical excellence, nervous‑system awareness, and a therapeutic relationship that honors your pace.
Whether you’re seeking counseling, ketamine‑assisted therapy, or life coaching, we offer a range of packages that adapt to your needs, your schedule, and your goals.
Healing is not one‑size‑fits‑all. We meet you where you are so you can move toward where you’re meant to be.
